Die zukunftsweisende Mixed Reality Technologie von Microsoft ist ab November in sechs neuen Märkten verfügbar
München, 12. Oktober 2016. Entwickler und kommerzielle Partner können die Microsoft HoloLens ab heute in ausgewählten europäischen Märkten vorbestellen. Im November wird der weltweit erste eigenständige holographische Computer mit Windows 10 in Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien und Irland ausgeliefert werden. Neben den vier europäischen Ländern kann die Microsoft HoloLens nun auch in Australien und Neuseeland vorbestellt werden. Die Ankündigung erfolgt zu einem Zeitpunkt, zu dem die Microsoft HoloLens enorme Unterstützung von Entwicklern, Kunden und Partnern weltweit erhält.
„Seit der ersten Vorstellung der Microsoft HoloLens haben Entwickler und Unternehmen beeindruckende Mixed-Reality-Anwendungen kreiert, die nur mit der Microsoft HoloLens möglich sind“, so Alex Kipman, Technical Fellow, Microsoft Windows and Devices Group. „Als wir mit der neuen Mixed-Reality-Produktkategorie gestartet sind, war uns klar, dass viele der besten Innovationen dann entstehen würden, wenn die Technologie von anderen eingesetzt wird. Die Entwicklung von Mixed Reality hat gerade erst begonnen
Schon heute haben Kunden, die bereits die Microsoft HoloLens nutzen, innovative Lösungen entwickelt, die sich bereits positiv auf ihre Geschäfte auswirken. Die frühzeitigen Anwender von Mixed-Reality-Lösungen sind in den nächsten Jahren bestens aufgestellt, um von einem immer schnelleren Wachstum zu profitieren. Laut IDC werden „die weltweiten Umsätze im Bereich Augmented Reality und Virtual Reality von 5,2 Milliarden Dollar im Jahr 2016 auf über 162 Milliarden Dollar im Jahr 2020 ansteigen.1“ Zudem wird Windows 10 mit einem Update in 2017 Windows Holographic bieten, eine Technologieplattform für Mixed Reality. Damit können Nutzer die Welt anders wahrnehmen, Hindernisse überwinden und die virtuelle und physische Welt zusammenbringen. Bereits im Juni auf der Computex wurde Windows Holographic für Windows 10 PCs und Head-Mounted Displays angekündigt, mit dem Ziel, eine neuartige Mixed-Reality-Erfahrung zu bieten. Die Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten auf dieser Plattform sind enorm – alle holographischen Apps sind Universal Windows Apps, die auf der Windows Holographic Plattform ausgeführt werden können. Damit sichern Entwickler ihre aktuellen Investitionen in sämtliche Gerätetypen und -größen und profitieren in der Zukunft von dem wachsenden Ökosystem aus Windows Holographic-Geräten.
Microsoft HoloLens kann ab sofort in sechs neuen Märkten vorbestellt werden
Erstmals wurde die Microsoft HoloLens im Januar 2015 vorgestellt. Am 31. März 2016 erfolgte die Auslieferung der Mixed-Reality-Brille an Entwickler und kommerzielle Partner in den USA und Kanada. Nun kann die Microsoft HoloLens exklusiv im Microsoft Store in Australien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Irland und Neuseeland vorbestellt werden. Die Auslieferung soll im November erfolgen. Weitere Informationen über die Microsoft HoloLens Developer Edition (3.299 € UVP) und Commercial Suite (5.489 € UVP) sind im Microsoft Store verfügbar.

- Case Western Reserve University: “This device allows us to engage students in unprecedented ways,” said Mark Griswold, faculty director for Case Western Reserve’s Interactive Commons and leader of the university’s work with Microsoft HoloLens. “The HoloLens allows students to explore the world in completely new ways. - NASA: Our partnership with NASA brings mixed reality to space exploration and discovery, creating new experiences and educational opportunities for scientists and consumers alike. Together with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, we have created four groundbreaking mixed-reality applications. The OnSight project enables scientists to use HoloLens to “work on Mars” together, directly from their offices, allowing them a means to plan and, along with the Curiosity Mars Rover, conduct science operations on the Red Planet. By extending the OnSight project, in September we opened “Destination: Mars” at the Kennedy Space Center to the public, which allows visitors the only opportunity possible today to walk around the Red Planet, just as NASA scientists do today. The Sidekick project brought HoloLens to the International Space Station to enable station crews to get remote expert assistance when and where they need it, reducing crew training requirements and increasing the efficiency at which astronauts can work in space. The NASA team created the ProtoSpace HoloLens application to build the next generation of spacecraft and space rovers; the application brings 3-D spacecraft designs into the world to help improve the design process.
